The Joint Emergency Communications Center groundbreaking.
Of the all the projects that I've worked on in my time on the Council, the Joint Emergency Communications Center (JECC) has been the most interesting.  This project provides a regional model for delivery of emergency communication services.  Over five years in the making, the Center should open in early 2010.
This is the groundbreaking with Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek, IC Council member Mike Wright, Johnson County Emergency Management Director Dave Wilson, North Liberty Mayor Tom Salm, Iowa City Planning Director and Project Manager of the JECC, Jeff Davidson, Coralville Mayor Pro-Tem Henry Herwig, me, and Johnson County Supervisor, Pat Harney.
